Centopassi 2026 ENG

The Organizing Committee of the 2026 edition of CENTOPASSI® challenges a maximum of 70 adult and experienced motorcyclists, equipped with a valid driver’s license, either alone or in teams, to complete a route consisting solely of secondary roads, crossing as many mountain passes as possible up to a maximum of 100, according to the rules of this Regulation.

The fundamental and founding elements of CENTOPASSI® are travel, discovery, navigation, orientation, planning, and the pleasure of riding, as well as knowledge of one’s own limits and those of one’s motorcycle. Each rider must keep these in mind from the moment they register for the event until they reach the finish line.

The challenge, therefore, is first and foremost—as always—with oneself!

Departure on May 29

1.1 CENTOPASSI® It is a non-competitive motorcycle rally without speed trials, covering a total distance of no less than 1,600 km to be covered in 4 days (for the calculation of mileage, please refer to the Technical Annex).

It consists of traveling along secondary roads, passing from one “mountain pass” or “WP” to another, with the aim of crossing up to a maximum of 100 (one hundred) along the route from the Start to the Finish.

The maximum number of riders allowed to participate is 70; participants must be of legal age. You can participate individually or in teams.

CENTOPASSI® is dedicated to particularly experienced motorcyclists: we recommend that you carefully read the information provided in point 2.

1.2 A mountain pass is any road passage, paved or unpaved, that crosses a mountain or hill range, even if defined otherwise (e.g., “fork,” “pass,” “saddle,” “high road,” etc.).

1.3 A rider is any participant in CENTOPASSI® as a motorcycle driver.

A team is a group consisting of at least two drivers.

The choice of whether to participate individually or as a team must be made at the time of registration.

Each driver is required to provide a medical certificate of fitness for non-competitive sports, which must be issued after registration and sent by email to the Organization by the registration deadline, as specified in point 3.2 below.

1.4 The starting location is the point from which the rider declares they wish to start and must be communicated to the Organization in the manner specified in point 3.5 below. This point may not be less than 15 km as the crow flies from the first of the WPs that the Pilot intends to cross on their route, nor more than 450 km as the crow flies from the location officially designated as the Finish Line. It is forbidden to start from a location outside the Italian national border. Violations will result in the penalties specified in point 6 below.

Once communicated, the starting location cannot be changed.

1.5 The route is the itinerary that each Pilot takes from the declared starting point to the Finish Line and is free, as each Pilot constructs their own based on the criteria and parameters of these Regulations.

The use of motorways and so-called “major roads” and/or “expressways” is prohibited (for example: the FI-PI-LI; the Florence-Siena; the E45 Orte-Ravenna; the ring roads of all cities and towns; etc. For a more precise identification of the characteristics of the prohibited roads, as well as for the EXACT IDENTIFICATION OF THE AREA AFFECTED BY THE RESTRICTIONS AIMED AT CONTAINING THE SPREAD OF “SWINE FEVER,” it is strongly recommended to consult the Technical Annex.

1.6 Waypoint is the waypoint identified by the Organization. Transiting within the circular area with a radius of 150 meters at the waypoint earns the Pilot 5,000 points valid for the Classification.

1.7 Golden Point is the waypoint identified by the Organization with a circular area having a radius of 100 (one hundred) meters. Passing through this area earns the Pilot 15,000 points valid for the Final Rankings exclusively in the event of reaching the 100th step. If the 100th step is not reached, however, this waypoint will award the pilot only 5,000 points valid for the rankings.

1.8 Altitude Point is the score that the pilot acquires both on the ascent and descent, moving along their route, from the start until reaching the 100th step, or the finish line. The values acquired both uphill and downhill are simply added together.

The altitude value is only taken into account as a residual criterion of difference for the position in the ranking in the event of a tie between one or more pilots.

1.9 The finish line is the arrival point of all the different routes and coincides with the location where the CENTOPASSI® event ends. The finish line is made official by the Organization on the website www.centopassi.net two months before the date set for the start of the rally.

The location designated as the finish line may not be crossed by drivers during the route on any of the four days of the rally, and until the rally is over, not even to go to the point where the tracker will be handed in (see point 4.7), under penalty of the sanctions specified in point 6 below.

1.10 Registration is the set of procedures to be completed in order to obtain from the Organization everything necessary to validly participate in the rally.

1.11 Motorcycle is the only type of motor vehicle that can be used to participate in CENTOPASSI®. This means any two-wheeled vehicle with an 8-cycle, 2- or 4-stroke engine, equipped with a non-automatic gearbox with a minimum of three gears, with a total displacement of not less than 100 cc, with each wheel rim measuring not less than 16 inches. The motorcycle and any accessories installed must comply with the rules of the Highway Code. The definition of Motorcycle referred to in this point is not subject to broad interpretation, even if it is provided for/referred to/borrowed from the rules of the Highway Code, regulations, and/or conventions.

Any partial exemptions may be granted at the sole discretion of the Organization exclusively in favor of motorcyclists with disabilities, subject to an express documented request to be sent by email. Disabled riders already admitted to participate in CENTOPASSI® in previous editions are exempt from this request.

1.12 Equipment refers to all the gear and tools that each rider/motorcycle must have for the entire duration of the rally.

1.13 Organization (or Organizing Committee) is the set of properties owned by the CENTOPASSI® brand, the company that holds the rights to use the CENTOPASSI® brand, Amateur Sports Association and any other entities entrusted with the organization/promotion of the event, as well as the personnel in charge/delegated/appointed and any third-party event manager, who is responsible for carrying out all the operations necessary to ensure the correct and complete running of the rally, from the moment the event is launched until its conclusion.
The Organization is automatically dissolved at the end of the event.

The Organization is automatically dissolved at the end of the event.

CENTOPASSI® is an event dedicated to particularly experienced motorcyclists, with above-average mechanical and psychophysical control skills, awareness of their own limits and those of their motorcycles, and awareness of the fact that these limits – as well as the rules of the Highway Code, civil coexistence, and good manners – must never be exceeded for the entire duration of the event.

CENTOPASSI® aims to:

2.1 challenge each rider to further develop their experience and riding skills, including orientation and organizational skills, their relationship with their motorcycle, self-discipline, studying and identifying roads and routes to travel from one point to another, mental and physical endurance, and orientation skills; to learn about minor roads; to discover local cultures, meaning those of the populations inhabiting the places that the riders will pass through during the route;

2.2 ensure the enjoyment and satisfaction of the riders, as well as encourage them to meet new motorcyclists and socialize.

3.1The Organization will officially announce the event on the website WWW.CENTOPASSI.NET, which will be the only official reference point for the event from that moment until its conclusion. The Organization’s announcements will be published on the website, and their content will be binding for all Pilots and will be used as a reference in the event of any disputes. No other means of communication shall be binding on the Organization.

Before the start, specific communications between the Organization and the Driver shall take place exclusively by email.

3.2 Expressions of interest in participating in the event will be accepted without exception until the maximum number of 70 drivers is reached and, in any case, no later than 11:00 p.m. on April 13, 2026.
Expressions of interest in participating in the 2026 edition that are received after the above deadline and/or exceed the maximum number will be placed on a waiting list, from which requests to participate will be drawn in chronological order in the event of withdrawals by already registered drivers.

3.3 The form must be completed in full, declaring interest in participating in the event; the Organization reserves the right to accept or reject applications at its sole discretion.

Upon receipt of the acceptance notification, the interested party must pay the participation fee by the deadline communicated to them.

In the event of withdrawal, please refer to the provisions of the Financial Annex to these Regulations.

3.4 After payment of the participation fee, each Competitor will be sent the code to access the list of Passes accepted by the Organization: for the purposes of the ranking, only the passes contained in this list are valid.

3.5 No later than midnight on May 4, 2026, each Pilot must communicate to the Organization:
a) their name and other requested information relating to the location from which they intend to depart;
b) the list of Passes they intend to cross.
This information must be entered in the appropriate Excel file that the Organization will send after April 26, 2026, to each Pilot, who must complete it in its entirety and send it by email to info@centopassi.net in the same format (Excel file) in which it was received.
Files in different formats will not be accepted.
Each driver/team must indicate a maximum of 100 “main” passes and an additional 10 “reserve” passes.
The passes must be located in at least 4 regions, including the one where the starting point is located.
The passes must be located in at least 4 regions, including the one where the starting point is located.
For Drivers/Teams who have chosen the 3-day option, the passes must be located in at least 3 regions, including the one where the starting location is located.
For Drivers/Teams who have chosen the 2-day option, the passes must be located in at least 2 regions, including the one where the starting location is located.
The additional regions (3, 2, 1, depending on the option chosen) cannot all be directly adjacent to the one from which the rider departs (For example: those starting from Umbria cannot limit themselves to the passes in Umbria, Lazio, Tuscany, and Marche).
Files with lists containing more than 100+10 passes will not be accepted for drivers/teams who have opted for the 4-day solution.
Files with lists containing more than 75+7 passes will not be accepted for drivers/teams who have opted for the 3-day solution.
Files with lists containing more than 50+5 passes will not be accepted for drivers/teams who have opted for the 2-day solution.
Each driver will only earn pass points by crossing the passes contained in their list.

Each Pilot will only earn pass points by crossing the passes contained in their list.

The starting location cannot be less than 15 km as the crow flies from the first waypoint indicated in the Pilot’s list. If the distance is less than this, the first pass point will be canceled.

The starting location cannot be more than 450 km as the crow flies from the finish line (calculated from the center of the finish location). If the distance is greater, the driver will be disqualified.

The starting location must be in Italian territory. Otherwise, the driver will be disqualified.

Each pass indicated will only generate points the first time it is crossed.

The last of the passes to be crossed, valid for the route, may not under any circumstances be more than 50 km as the crow flies from the finish line indicated by the Organization.

The list of passes for each Pilot/Team will be known exclusively to the Organization and the Pilot/Team itself.

3.6 Each Competitor will receive, well in advance of the start date, the tracking equipment for use during the race and instructions for installation and operation, which must be strictly adhered to under penalty of disqualification.

4.1The event will take place over a total of 5 days, from May 29 to June 1, 2025, when the rally will be held; on June 2, there will be side events, including audio-video recordings with no obligation to participate.

4.2 For Drivers/Teams who have opted for the 4-day event, the start will take place at 08:00 on May 29, 2026, from the location declared to the Organization, as specified in point 3.5.
For Drivers/Teams who have opted for the 3-day event, the start will be at 08:00 on May 30, 2026, from the location declared to the Organization, as specified in point 3.5.
For Drivers/Teams who have opted for the 4 days, the start will be at 08:00 on May 31, 2026, from the location declared to the Organization, as specified in point 3.5.

Each rider is required to reach the declared starting point and be in position at least one hour before the scheduled start time. the motorcycle must remain stationary for the entire hour prior to departure, outdoors and in a position that can be easily detected by satellites (avoid parking, for example, under gas station and/or parking lot shelters).
Departure before the indicated time and/or arrival after the closing time of the finish line will result in the application of the penalties referred to in point 6.2 below.

Compliance with departure and arrival times and minimum mileage will be automatically verified by the Organization using monitoring equipment.

4.3 Each Driver is required to observe a rest period of no less than 7 hours and 45 minutes between 9:15 p.m. on one day and 5:00 a.m. on the following day; Failure to comply with this prohibition will result in the penalties referred to in point 6.2 below.

During this time slot, the Driver is prohibited from moving from the point where they are at 9:15 p.m.
In other words: at the start of the following day, the tracker must resume reporting movement from the exact same coordinates where it stopped at 9:15 p.m. on the previous day.
During the stop period, any movement is strictly prohibited, under penalty of the penalties referred to in point 6 below.

The tracking device must remain switched on even during this time slot.

4.4 During the route, each competitor is obliged to strictly comply with the rules of the Highway Code and other applicable regulations, including any traffic/crossing restrictions imposed by the competent authorities.

The average speed during the route must comply with the rules of the Highway Code.
Each Competitor will be constantly monitored using the appropriate real-time tracking system.

The Organization reserves the right to carry out speed checks, applying penalties as specified in point 6.2 below in the event of exceeding the speed limit imposed, which will be communicated by the Organization to each Driver before the start of the race.

4.5 The withdrawal of a driver must be immediately communicated to one of the three mobile numbers of the Organization, indicating the name and race number of the driver who takes over the tracker of the withdrawn teammate, under penalty of the sanctions specified in point 6 below.

In the event of withdrawal, the Driver is required to switch off their tracker and hand it over, together with the mains charger, to one of their teammates who is continuing the rally and who must hand it over to the Organization as specified in point 4.7 below.

Alternatively, the Driver who is a member of the Team that has withdrawn, after notifying the Organization of his withdrawal and turning off the tracker, may go directly to the Finish Line and personally deliver the electronic equipment.

For Teams consisting of 2 drivers, the withdrawal of one of the 2 members will result in the automatic inclusion of the remaining Driver in the individual rankings.

Pilots participating individually who withdraw are required to reach the finish line and deliver the complete electronic equipment. Failure to do so will result in a penalty as specified in point 6 below, and the equipment must be returned by mail as soon as possible to the sender’s address indicated on the package in which it was received.

Throughout the entire duration of the rally, each driver must make all necessary arrangements for food and accommodation.

4.6 Given the considerable number of passes included in the list provided, the Organization is unable to test their passability or the road conditions immediately prior to the event.
For this reason, the choice of which passes to cross and which route to take is left to each driver, who makes this decision at their own risk, also in relation to the consequences of any weather or natural events, whether the passes are free or subject to a toll, and whether they are subject to restrictions and/or prior authorisation by the competent authorities.

4.7 CENTOPASSI® 2026 will end with the Drivers’ Award Ceremony, which will take place on the evening of June 1, 2026, at the location indicated as the Finish Line by the Organization.
The Challenge will end when each Driver crosses the Finish Line between 5:15 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. on June 1, 2026.
The Finish Line will be located at the point identified by the geographical coordinates that will be communicated by the Organization via email by May 3, 2026.
At the finish line, the Pilots must hand over the electronic tracking device complete with all its parts.
Reaching the finish line before 5:15 p.m. and after 5:45 p.m. will result in the application of the penalties specified in point 6.2 below.
Please note that in any case, at 5:45 p.m., performance recording will be blocked, so that from that moment on, the tracker, even if turned on, will NO LONGER DETECT any values, and riders who have not reached the tracker delivery point by 6:00 p.m. will be classified as WITHDRAWN.

4.8 Throughout the event, the Organization reserves the right to carry out surprise checks to verify that the position of the rider and motorcycle corresponds exactly to that reported by the control equipment. The presence of any anomalies and/or discrepancies of any kind will result in the application of the penalties provided for in point 6.2 below.

4.9 During the performance, the Pilot travels at his/her own risk and peril, i.e., protected exclusively by his/her own personal insurance policies, if and to the extent that they have been taken out. The Organization does not provide any insurance coverage from the start to the end of each pilot’s performance, nor does the Organization provide any insurance coverage to the Pilot and/or third parties during the journey made by the Pilot to reach the starting location and from the location where the Tracker will be delivered to the finish line.

5.1 Each rider must have the following with them for the entire duration of the event:

a) a mobile phone with an Italian number, switched on and in perfect working order, with the number indicated on the registration form activated;
b) electronic tracking equipment;
c) identification plates to be affixed to the motorcycle, as specified in point 5.3 below;
d) technical clothing;
e) navigation device set to at least “logger mode”; alternatively: logger device.

5.2

The electronic device (tracker) must be switched on at least 1 hour before the start time of the rally. Specific instructions will be provided to each rider before the start date, including for this procedure.

It must remain switched on continuously throughout the duration of the race. Switching it off will result in the penalties referred to in point 6.2 below being applied.

The electronic device (tracker) must be positioned at the front of the motorcycle as close as possible to the dashboard, in full view and in such a position that it can be seen by the rider while driving without any difficulty.

It is expressly forbidden to place the tracker under the seat, inside bags (tank and/or side bags), or in jacket pockets. Any violation, if ascertained at the finish line, will result in the application of the penalty specified in Article 6 below.

The electronic equipment, complete and intact in all its parts, must be handed over by each Pilot to the Organization’s staff, as specified in point 4.7.

Failure to hand over the equipment and/or late delivery of the equipment beyond the limit indicated in point 4.7, or if any part of the equipment is missing, will result in the application of the penalties referred to in point 6.2 below.

5.3 The cell phone must be turned on and in perfect working order for the entire duration of the performance. The driver is required to answer any calls from Race Control or, if unable to do so, to call Race Control back as soon as possible, under penalty of the sanctions specified in Article 6 below.

 5.4 The identification plates bearing the number assigned to the rider must be positioned as follows: the large plate on the front near the headlight; the small plate on the right side of the vehicle so that it is clearly visible. The front position may be on the windshield/fairing; the side position may be anywhere as long as it is clearly visible from the roadside and not covered by any motorcycle accessories.

Failure to affix the plates will result in the penalties set out in point 6.2 below.

 5.5 All drivers must wear technical clothing for the entire duration of the rally, including boots, gloves, and back protectors (drivers wearing jackets with integrated back protectors are exempt).

5.6

For the construction of the route, the use of territorial maps and/or Google Earth is permitted. For navigation during the rally, the use of road books generated in any way, GPS devices, compasses, and other navigation tools, including satellite navigators, is permitted.

Regardless of the navigation aid used during the rally, each rider is required to install a device on their motorcycle capable of continuously recording the route taken for the entire duration of the rally (known as a logger). The top 10 finishers are required to hand over their route recording devices to the Organization as soon as they reach the finish line, under penalty of the sanctions referred to in point 6 below

Each driver, even if a member of a team, will be solely responsible for their driving conduct and general behavior during the rally.

In the event of violations of the law and/or rules of conduct and etiquette that are detected or reported in any way during the rally, the Organization will immediately exclude the person responsible from the rankings and, if that person is a member of a team, penalize the team by demoting it one position in the final rankings.

Any violations of the law, regulations, and/or rules of conduct will be reported to the competent authorities for the adoption of appropriate measures.

Points and penalties will be determined as follows:

6.1 PUNTI PASSO

-) 15.000 punti per golden point raggiunto durante la performance che vengono attribuiti automaticamente al raggiungimento del 100° passo. In mancanza, il WP definito Golden Point ha lo stesso valore di punteggio di un qualunque altro w.p., cioè 5.000 punti;

-) 100,000 points as an additional bonus:

the bonus is automatically acquired upon reaching the 100th Step, provided that this last step is within 50 km as the crow flies from the Finish Line.

Reaching the 100th step will also automatically freeze the rankings, meaning that even if the Pilot/Team continues on the route, they will no longer accumulate any step points or altitude points.

6.2 PENALTY

-) 1 point for every km/h over the maximum speed communicated by the Organization before departure;

-) 100 points for each kilometer of route below the minimum threshold specified in point 1.1;

-) cancellation of the checkpoint in the event of departure less than 15 km as the crow flies from the first checkpoint;

-) 1 relegation position for the remaining member(s) of Teams whose one or more Drivers have been excluded from the Classification following violations of the conduct referred to in point 6;

-) 100,000 points deducted for arriving at the tracker delivery point before 5:15 p.m. and after 5:45 p.m.; from 6:00 p.m. onwards, participants will be classified as “withdrawn”.

-) deduction of 100,000 points for violation of the communication obligation referred to in point 1.3 in the event of withdrawal of a team member, in addition to relegation of one position in the Final Rankings;

-) 100,000 points deducted for placing the tracker in one of the prohibited locations specified in point 5.2;

-) deduction of 1,000 points in the event of failure to respond/return telephone calls from Race Management;

-) Exclusion from the Team Ranking in the event of failure to return the electronic equipment belonging to the Team member who has withdrawn;

-) Exclusion from the rankings for drivers who retire in the event of failure to deliver the electronic equipment at the finish line;

-) exclusion from the Classification for failure to switch on the tracking device at least 1 hour before the start time of the rally;

-) exclusion from the Classification for starting from a location other than the one communicated;

-) exclusion from the Classification for starting from a location outside the Italian national border and/or more than 450 km as the crow flies from the Finish Line;

-) exclusion from the Classification for traveling on the prohibited roads specified in point 1.4;

-) 30,000 PENALTY POINTS for failure to apply the identification tables;

-) exclusion from the Classification for failure to deliver the electronic race equipment within the deadline and where specified in point 4.7;

-) exclusion from the rankings for removal/tampering with technical control equipment during the race;

-) exclusion from the rankings for failure to deliver the technical equipment/loggers used for navigation during the race to the Race Management as soon as the finish line is reached, or in the event of cancellation/failure to store route data for even a single day of the race;

-) exclusion from the Classification for failure to comply with the mandatory stop in the time slot referred to in point 4.3 above;

-) exclusion from the Classification for starting from a position other than the last one reached at 9:15 p.m. on the previous day before the mandatory stop;

-) exclusion from the Classification for anomalies found during the checks referred to in point 4.8 above.
In all the above cases, if the infringement is committed by an individual rider who is part of a team, the relevant penalty will be applied to the entire team.

6.3 RANKINGS

At the end of each day of competition, the Organization will publish the provisional overall classification on the website www.centopassi.net by 11:00 p.m., or as soon as possible after the start of the mandatory stop referred to in point 4.3.
At the end of the rally, the following classifications will be drawn up:

a) Overall Classification
b) Individual Classification
c) Team Classification

The rankings will be drawn up according to the following criteria:

PP (Pass Points) + [GP (Golden Point), as specified in points 1.7 and 6.1]– TP (Total Penalties) = PF (Final Score).

Only in the event of a tie between one or more Drivers/Teams will the score be awarded according to the following criterion:
PP + GP + PQ (altitude points) – TP = PF.

For the purposes of calculating altitude points, only the tracker data will be considered valid.

In the event of a further tie,

– if Individual

the Driver who has accumulated the lowest mileage calculated by the control equipment (see Technical Annex) will be declared the winner;

– if Team

the winner will be the team that has accumulated the lowest mileage calculated by the control equipment (see Technical Annex).

If different values are recorded among the Drivers of the same Team, the lowest value recorded by the trackers of each of its members will be applied to the entire Team.

6.4 RECLAMI

Complaints against the daily rankings may be lodged no later than 30 minutes after their publication on the website www.centopassi.net.

Complaints against the final rankings may be lodged no later than 90 minutes after their publication on the website www.centopassi.net and simultaneous posting outside the Race Management headquarters, subject to payment of a deposit of €200.00 for each Driver and/or each member of the Team.
